A Father

Many of us don’t get a chance to be raised by our biological fathers. Many of us are either raised by a single parent or your mother and a step father. Some of us are raised by our dear grandparents. My question is who/what is a father? To me it takes more than a DNA test to say that someone is a father. Yes that will prove that you and him share the same blood but being a father isn’t just about the same blood.
A father is the man who protects you at all times. The man who provides for you with love. The one who would do anything to make sure you are happy. The man who takes care of you,the one who you can look at and say I am what I am because of your love and guidance. The one who has always been with you, holding your hand. If you have a man who does this for you then you have a real father.
Its funny how men do not want to take responsibility of their children when they are young. They wait until the child has grown and then they want to claim that the child is theirs. You can not stay for 20years not knowing what your child eats, whether or not he/she is taken good care of then claim you are that child’s father.
