Don’t believe it!

I know that this post is probably going to be offensive to some people and not everyone may agree with my opinion, but that’s exactly what it is: my opinion!
These days people seem to find it so easy to blame technology, the media and celebrities for everything that goes on and wrong in our lives. We never want to take the blame.

Young women and men cannot blame a magazine or photo editing program for their lack of self-esteem. So what if the images you see are “beautiful” and flawless, if that’s what you define as beauty then you’re looking in the wrong place! Beauty shouldn’t be a physical feature and physical features definitely wont bring happiness. The only happiness you will find out of evaluating your body is the feeling you feel when you decide to accept yourself.
I am speaking from experience as a few years ago, I had no self-esteem and wished I could be “like her” but I don’t remember ever comparing myself to magazine or TV images, because those people to me just aren’t “real”. They are the product of 3 hours in hair and make-up and in the case of pictures, carefully edited and redesigned versions of themselves.
So why do girls continue to make themselves feel inferior? You are far more superior that a picture on a recyclable piece of paper! You are unique, you have feelings, you can sneeze and cough and even spit on that perfect face on the cover of a magazine if you feel like it!
Believe it! I do!
