Eat your way to success

What you eat is more important than just trying to curb hunger. It plays a big role in how your mind works, your mood as well as how well you do in your exams. Image Courtesy: Johne Ellis @art.swg.co.za
1. Put your thinking cap on
When you need to think hard and give your studies the best shot, top up on some foods that will give you nutrients. So skip that junk food, okay? Get some omega 3s, found in salmon and acai berries, which are great brain foods.
2. Get protein
Protein helps maintain your energy levels and mental performance, so top up on eggs, chicken and tofu to keep sluggish moments at bay.
3. Avoid big meals
You know that feeling of tiredness you get after a big meal? That happens ‘cause most of your body’s oxygen is being used to digest what you’ve chowed, leaving your brain with not enough. Rather eat small amounts at a time and regularly throughout the day.
