So you don’t have a lot of money or time at your disposal but you’re hoping to make the world a nicer, brighter place? You can do it! Image Courtesy: Christel Lindhorst @art.swg.co.za

1. Start at home
Be nice to people you surround yourself with – your family, your friends, people you interact with at work or school. Spread the love and make someone’s day. Even just a smile can transform someone’s day. It might not seem like a lot, but if a small action from  you impacts someone in a small way, they’ll end up spreading that good energy to others they meet.

2. Think of what you can do
You might feel overwhelmed at all the ways in which you’re powerless to make the world a better place, but think of what you do have. Perhaps you can donate clothing or toys to a charity, or you can give a homeless man some money. The point is to use whatever resources you do have.

3. Work on yourself

If you want to change the world, first think about yourself. What makes you happy? What makes you feel good? When we feel good, we immediately send out good energy and light. This can only do good in the world, plus it’s contagious.

4. One person counts

Forget the idea of changing the lives of millions – sure, we all want to do that, but it might not be possible right now. Rather think of how you can change one person’s life, even in a small way. This is just as powerful because even if you can’t change the world entirely, you can change someone’s world.

5. One small deed leads to greater ones

Once you get into the hang of doing small deeds for people, you’ll see that they become greater! You’ll also see that there’s no such thing as a small deed for someone in need.
