Do you wear your heart on your sleeve?

|
Being an expressive chick rocks, as does not fearing your emotions. But if you're wearing your heart on your sleeve you might actually be doing more harm to yourself than good. Sounds weird, but read on to discover why.
Scenario One: You're pissed off ‘cause you found out your so-called friend is actually a backstabbing you-know-what and this secret has been revealed at a party. So being the emotional chick you are, you gatecrash her space and before you know it, you're both screaming at each other, providing free entertainment for the other party guests. The next day when the rage has cooled you're probably going to feel like you were in a bad episode of Laguna Beach.
Scenario Two: You tell your guy you're so into him and can see you both being together forever - yet it's only date three. You feel totally heartbroken when he doesn't call you again.
If you give too much of your emotions without adding some thinking process to them, it can either land you in embarrassment (scenario one) or put your heart out there for rejection (scenario two). Everything needs moderation and that applies to your self-expression and feelings too. Not forgetting: give everything away in a burst of emotion and what are you left with? Nothing more to give!
It's a good thing to rock out with who you are and say what you feel, but remember there are always boundaries attached. Ultimately, you have to protect yourself. If you're all about mouthing off with everything you think/feel and you're unafraid to get it all out there, it can be a bit of TMI.
And when it comes to guys, sometimes mystery can do wonders. If you express everything too much, the guy might get freaked out and it just puts you on the line unnecessarily.
Drama and emotion sometimes go hand in hand. You might feel like shouting your feelings from the rooftops or causing a scene at a party, but remember that drama and emotion can be a lethal combination. Get a clear head before proceeding. When you're about to roll your heart down your sleeve for all to see, think about how you'll feel the next day once the moment's over. If you can see yourself wanting to kick yourself in the head for your blabbing, rather hike up a stop-sign in front of your mouth!
