13 date ideas for Valentines Day

Forget those romantic dinners and the traditional box of chocolates with a teddy bear gift. This year, do something different to celebrate the day!

Couple Jumping

1. Kiss adrenaline
Who says Valentine's Day need be all about the mushy romantic stuff? Why not try your hand at something that will put some electricity in your veins? I'm thinking go sky-diving or on an adventure hot air balloon ride. Do something that will make you feel alive and that you can share with your guy.

2. Hit the beach
Of course we all know the beach is one of the most romantic places, so this is a must. Have a meal together at sunset or a long walk at moonlight.

3. Feel like a kid again
Sometimes we forget that dates are supposed to be fun. So, run through sprinklers or climb to the top of the roof and watch the stars. Last one there is an egghead!

4. Watch a horror flick
Enough with the love-themed movies, so give them a skip in favour of a horror instead. It's something different and you get to cuddle with him should you feel scared.

5. Have a picnic
When was the last time you had a fun picnic in the park or in your back yard? It's so much fun to get back in tune with nature.

6. Hit the clubs
Dancing ‘til the sun comes up is a great way to have fun together. So leave your friends behind and bust out with cool moves on the dance floor with your guy.

7. Have a backwards dinner
Instead of the traditional ‘food then dessert' deal, this year shake it up by starting with dessert then having real food. Of course you can pick a romantic restaurant and if you're daring enough skip real food altogether.

8. Go to an aquarium
There's something really romantic and beautiful about being at an aquarium.

9. Organise a gift hunt
It's awesome to give each other a little thought for Valentine's Day, just to show your love, but hide gifts and let each other go on a mad gift hunt for them. Make it more interesting than hiding it in his car. Think big!

10. Cook a meal
You can eat out with all the other couples out there, or you can learn a recipe to make a delicious meal yourself. Maybe the two of you could cook a meal together so you enjoy the experience.

11. Go-kart!
This is a cool way to have some fun, especially if your relationship is still new. You can clinch a relaxed date without feeling nervous about the whole ‘romantic dinner' thing.

12. Go for ice cream
When last did you take a trip somewhere only to get ice cream? It's fun plus you can share each other's, which is so romantic.

13. Hot air balloon, baby
This is a great way to view the world from a little higher than usual and having a romantic kiss as you sail through the sky? Bliss!
